Two-person scramble

Rules & format

Draft — subject to change until the organizers finalize
01

The field

  • The planned field is 12 organizer-built teams — 24 players in total.
  • If demand is high, the organizers can boost the field up to 18 teams / 36 players by adding tee times, decided after registration closes on Aug 13, 11:59 PM MT.
  • Waitlist entries convert in the order they were submitted, and everyone is emailed once the final field size is locked.
02

The scramble

  • Teams are two players. Both players tee off on every hole.
  • Pick the better of the two shots, mark the spot, and both players play their next shot from there.
  • Repeat until the ball is holed. Record one team score per hole.
  • The non-selected ball is picked up — no penalty, no extra strokes.
03

Drive minimum

  • Suggested: each player's tee shot must be used at least four times over the 18 holes.
  • Mark the used drive on your scorecard so it's easy to track.
  • This is a fun-first event; the organizers won't disqualify anyone, but honour the spirit of it.
04

Pace and scoring

  • Maximum score per hole is triple bogey. Pick up and write it down — keep the group moving.
  • Keep up with the group in front, not ahead of the group behind.
  • Both players sign the card at the end of the round.
05

Ball placement

  • Place within one club length of the selected ball, no closer to the hole.
  • Stay in the same condition you found it: rough stays in rough, bunker stays in bunker.
  • On the green, place within one putter head of the marked spot, no closer to the hole.
  • Out of bounds or lost: play the other ball if it's in play, otherwise take a one-stroke drop at the point of entry.
06

Tiebreaks

  • First tiebreak: lowest score on the back nine (holes 10–18).
  • Second tiebreak: lowest score on holes 16, 17, 18, then 18 alone.
  • Still tied: a single closest-to-the-pin chip-off at the practice green before awards.
